This portrait project is an ongoing narrative. Long before the term "selfie" was popularized, and even before digital photography existed, the self-release function on analog cameras was commonly used.
I employed this simple system while photographing weddings and parties. People were as joyful as children when they stood in front of an old, professional-looking Mamiya 6x7 camera and an ordinary flashlight. All they needed to do was press the release button on a short cable.
