This captivating documentary series was brought to life in 2006, utilizing fully analog techniques and skillfully captured using a Contax G2 camera on 35mm film. During my brief yet illuminating stay in this fascinating country, which was still under the rule of Fidel Castro at the time, I was able to discover the authentic simplicity of life in a vibrant land. Here, the people, despite facing various challenges, consistently wore smiles on their faces, embodying a spirit of resilience and joy that was truly inspiring. The predominant language spoken throughout the region was Spanish, and this linguistic barrier proved to be the most significant challenge I encountered while trying to connect with the local population. Nevertheless, the warmth and friendliness of the people made it a memorable experience, rich with cultural insights and profound human interactions.
